2015 Thus Far...

The last couple months have been crazy and incredibly rewarding.

Between new product video demos, sessions, lessons, and gigs, I've barely had time to breathe! I'd like to take a moment to share my thoughts on some of my favorite guitar products.

I am proud to announce my new relationship with D'Addario Strings! These strings are amazing to say the least! They are by far the best strings I have used and they keep their fabulous tone after several gigs long after they've been changed. D'Addario has an impressive product line that is sure to please the most discriminating players. I've been using the electric light gauge, nickel wound EXL110-10P's.

I've also formed a personal connection with Clayton picks. Truth be told, I've been using Clayton's for the last 20 years! Actually, I've been using the same pick model since the mid 90's; the 1.26 standard Acetal/Polymer series.

I am also happy to announce my new friendship with Eminence Speaker! I have used Eminence for several years however I fell in love with them all over again at this year's NAMM show in Anaheim. After spending several hours playing through most of their speakers in their demo sound booth, I found it difficult to choose just one. I recently acquired the EJ-1240. This Alnico masterpiece is voiced with the perfect balance of pleasing highs along with a tight low end! And who doesn't like a tight low end? ;-) A special thank you to Cobi and Anthony for welcoming me in the Eminence family.

I've also recently completed two new product video demos for Dr. Z Amps. The Carmen Ghia video is one that is close to my heart being that I have used a Ghia for the last 10 years. To me, the Ghia is the "secret weapon" in my amplifier arsenal. Weighing in at a stout 18 watts and donning only two knobs (volume and tone), it is the most enjoyable and inspiring amp I own.

As a side note, I included two of my new chosen pedals within the Ghia video; the Wampler Plexi Drive Deluxe and the Wampler Velvet Fuzz. Both pedals are a "must have" for my pedalboard being that between them both, I can cover any/all overdrive, mild distortion, and fuzz tones that I will ever need!

The Z-LUX is the newest amp in the Dr. Z product line. This warm, vintage combo is an enhanced example of our favorite blackface amp from the 60's. Having the option of full power (40 watts), or half power (20 watts), reverb, trem, and a boost function, makes this the most versatile amp in the Dr. Z amp series. The video features several of the amps attributes along focusing on assorted tones from several different guitars in conjunction with assorted amp settings. I can't say enough great things about the Z-LUX; it's my new favorite amp!

Thank you all for your endearing comments and continued support. I am so happy to connect with some of you through emails and social media. Please stay tuned for great things to come...
